Sometimes you need to add a link to your website’s navigation (or sitemap) that doesn’t point to a regular page. For example:
You might want to link to a third-party portal or service (like an external login, scheduling tool, or online store).
You might want to create a shortcut to a page that already exists elsewhere—like a page that’s normally found inside a dropdown, but you want it to also be visible in another part of your navigation.
Adding a Link to Your Sitemap
Here’s how to add a link to your sitemap using Editor:
Navigate to the Pages area in Editor and go to the section in your list of pages (sitemap) where you'd like the new link to appear.
Root-Level Links (Main Menu Items):
If you want to add a new link directly to your main menu (not inside a dropdown), you may need to contact Cybernautic support. Because these links can affect your site's layout on different screen sizes, our team can help make sure everything stays responsive.Dropdown or Submenu Links:
If you’re adding a link inside a dropdown, hover over the menu item you'd like it to sit under and click the + icon.In the “Add New Page” dialog, choose the Link option.
Enter the title of the link—this is what visitors will see in your menu.
Use the link tool to:
Select an internal page on your site, or
Choose "external link" and paste in the full URL for an external website.
If you’re using an external link, make sure it starts with
https://
.Click Save Link.
After saving, your new link will appear in your menu just like any other page. You can test it by refreshing your browser and clicking on it to make sure it goes to the right place.
Edit or Delete a Link In Your Sitemap
You'll notice that links in the sitemap look a little different than pages. This is because there is no content to edit, so there's no need to directly click on the link item. In fact, all controls relating to editing, rearranging and deleting the link in your sitemap will appear simply by hovering over the link item.
EDIT A LINK
To edit the link, hover over the link item and click the chain-link icon. This opens the standard link edit menu where you can choose a different internal page, edit or paste in a new external link, or choose to use any of the other link options (for instance, linking directly to a file in your file manager).
DELETE A LINK
To delete a link, hover over the link item and click the trash can icon. The system will require you to confirm the deletion. Once you do, the link will disappear.
Note: There's no recycle bin or "undo" function for deleted sitemap items, so if you need to add it back in, you'll have to create it again.
