If your website includes Cybernautic Payment Processing, powered by Stripe, there may be times when you need to rotate your API key for security or access purposes. This guide walks you through how to roll your Stripe secret key and then restrict access to Cybernautic’s IP address to maintain secure connectivity.
Step 1: Log in to the Stripe Dashboard
Head to https://dashboard.stripe.com and sign in to your Stripe account.
Step 2: Navigate to API Keys
In the top navigation menu, click on Developers.
Select the API keys tab from the left sidebar.
Step 3: Roll the Secret Key
Under the Standard keys section, locate the Secret key row.
Click the three-dot menu icon (⋯) next to the secret key.
Choose Roll key… from the dropdown.
In the Expiration menu that appears, select Now.
Click Roll API Key.
Important: Once you roll your key, any system depending on the old key will stop working. Make sure you're ready to update it wherever it's used.
Copy the new Secret key and send it securely to Cybernautic.
Step 4: Add an IP Access Restriction
Still on the Secret key row, click the three-dot menu icon (⋯) again.
Choose Manage IP Restrictions.
Toggle Limit use to a set of IP addresses to On.
Under Individually manage, enter the following:
IP Address:
3.18.16.250
CIDR:
32
Click + Add.
Click Save to apply your changes.
You're Done!
Your Stripe API key has now been successfully rotated, and access is limited to Cybernautic’s secure outbound server IP. If you run into any issues or have questions about this process, feel free to reach out to Cybernautic Support.
