What If You Want to Keep Domain Control?

1. We lose the ability to provide the full range of performance and security benefits mentioned above.

2. It places additional demand on our hosting infrastructure, which increases overall costs.

That said, you have a couple of options depending on how much control you’d like to retain:

Option 1: You Manage Registration, Cybernautic Manages DNS

If your main priority is domain ownership, you’re welcome to keep your registration under your own account. (Even when Cybernautic handles registration, you remain the rightful owner of your domain.)

By simply pointing your domain’s nameservers to Cybernautic’s Cloudflare network, you can still receive all of the speed, security, and reliability benefits that come with our managed DNS services—without giving up control of your registrar account.

Pro Tip: Enable auto-renew on your domain so you’re never at risk of losing it due to expiration.

Option 2: You Manage Registration & DNS

You can also choose to manage both your domain registration and DNS records yourself. Just keep in mind that doing so limits the tools and optimizations we can apply to protect and enhance your website’s performance.

In addition, accounts that do not route DNS through Cybernautic’s Cloudflare are not eligible for the $50/month Managed DNS Discount offered to hosting clients who allow us to manage DNS on their behalf.

Who Owns Your Domain?

It’s important to know: you always remain the rightful owner of your domain. When you transfer your domain to Cybernautic:

• It’s still your domain. You own it.

• You can request changes, updates, or a transfer back to you at any time.

• We are contractually obligated to honor those requests.
