Overview
If your website form allows users to upload attachments—like resumes, photos, or documents—those files are stored inside your website’s File Manager in Editor.
Where Uploaded Files Are Stored
Click on the “Files” tab at the top of your Editor screen.
Depending on the file type:
Images (JPG, PNG, etc.) are saved inside a folder within the root "images" directory
Documents (PDFs, Word docs, Excel files, etc.) are saved inside a folder within the root "files" directory
Protected Upload Folders
For security reasons:
Uploaded files are stored in protected folders
These folders cannot be deleted (you’ll notice a user icon with a lock next to them)
They’re hidden from search engines, meaning they won’t appear in Google search results
How Files Are Named and Organized
To help keep things tidy:
Uploaded files are often renamed automatically
File names usually include the user’s name and sometimes other identifying details specific to your form
Example:
For an employment application, a resume upload might be named:
Resume – Smith, John – timestamp
If a user uploads multiple files in a single form submission, the system will usually create a separate folder for that user’s files.
How to Access the Files
When someone submits a form with uploads:
The form notification email sent to your designated team members will include direct links to the uploaded files
Keep in Mind:
For security, these links will only work if you're logged into Editor!
Can Files Be Sent as Email Attachments?
In some cases, we can configure your form to include the uploaded files as actual attachments on the notification email.
However, there are size limits and security considerations, so this setup may not be available on all sites.
If you’d like to explore this option, contact Support and we’ll help you determine what’s possible.
